Before we can guarantee the removal of odors from a soiled carpet, we first decide what level of contamination it is to assess the situation. The method of treatment and chemicals to be used will depend on the heaviness of the soiled carpets. There are three contamination levels to consider.
1) Light contamination: Pets urinate on the carpet only once for the first time. Urine has not penetrated heavily into the carpet pad and subfloor structure.
2) Moderate Contamination: Pets urinate on the carpet several times.
3) Heavy Contamination: Pets have repeatedly urinated in the same spot, the carpet backing, pad, and floor have been saturated by urine. The process we use under this circumstance involves pulling up the carpet in the affected area, treating the backing and pile off the carpet and replacing it with a new pad.
